EMTL разработана в компании Kintech Lab. Библиотека состоит из свободно распространяемой и коммерческой частей. Коммерческая часть включает в себя дополнительные оптимизированные алгоритмы, позволяющие увеличить производительность в 5-10 раз. Весь исходный код, в настоящее время доступный на этом сайте, распространяется по лицензии wxWindows Library License.
